How to use Build English

Learn by building

1Who or what we talk about
The subject: the person, thing, or group we say something about.
2Verb or helping verb
The main verb when there is no helping verb; otherwise, the first helping verb.
3The rest of the message
Other information that completes the message, including any verbs after a helping verb.
?Question word or group
A word or group asking for missing information. If it is the subject, it can fill 1.
!Negative word or ending
A word or ending that makes a statement or question negative.
AIntroduces or identifies
Introduces a noun or shows which one, whose, how many, or how much.
BDescribes the noun
An optional adjective or adjective group that describes C and comes before it.
CNames the person or thing
The main naming word, usually a noun. The whole A–B–C group can fill 1.
